This review is coming from me as a "no bra" gal for over a decade. So as you can imagine, wearing a bra was going to be a big change for me.
My age and weight have made me realize I'd just be more comfortable wearing a bra....which historically I have hated. So wearing a bra was going to feel like a huge - and I feared uncomfortable - change. To add to my challenge, I am *extremely* sensitive to how clothes feel on my body. I can't stand anything that feels binding or that digs into my flesh in any way. I also prefer natural fibers, so I was unsure how a nylon bra would feel. All those worries were dashed when I finally got to try this bra on.
In my search, I tried a variety of styles from Bali, Trukind, and Underoutfit. Each of them caused me discomfort in some way. I also tried cotton bralettes from Hanes and Fruit of the Loom, and despite going by the sizing chart, they were just horribly squeezing.
I am currently 5'5" and 195 pounds. According the the measurement chart, I'm a 44C (thus a 2X in this bra). I was a bit concerned that - like the other brands - a 2X was going to feel like it was squeezing or digging into me. However, when I put this bralette on, I was SO RELIEVED! It is amazingly comfortable. There was a bit of an adjustment to the sensation, and to be honest the band rolled up a little bit, however once the bra and I got used to each other the bra became more comfortable. I guess it's sort of like breaking in a shoe. It takes a few beats for it to adjust to the body it's on. I recommend keeping the tag on and trying it on for a couple of hours. Move around, do things, sit, stand, etc., and see how it feels. I can tell you that wearing this is way more comfortable than not wearing it, and I look forward to putting it on every day.
This bra is also gloriously thin and smooth. The brushed fabric is soft and comforting. I wear a lot of rayon or fine cotton tops, and this bra doesn't show any outline bumps at all.
This bralette might not be for everyone, but I highly recommend giving it a try. I'm quite pleased with it. Now I just want more colors because I wear mostly sleeveless tops (year-round), and it's common that my bra will peek out a bit at the arm opening. I'd prefer that the color blend easily with whatever top I'm wearing.
